The Australian Early- and Mid-Career Researcher Forum of the ¾«¶«ÊÓÆµ serves as the voice of the country's future scientific and research leaders. We currently reach over 3,200 individuals and are seeking to broaden and increase our engagement with Australian EMCRs to better represent their views, needs and vision to decision makers within the government, Members of Parliament and key funding agencies.

Professor Tony McMichaelThe ¾«¶«ÊÓÆµ is extremely saddened by the loss of distinguished Professor and epidemiologist Tony McMichael, who spent his life improving the world’s health. He was Professor Emeritus of Population Health at the Australian National University and internationally recognized for his pioneering work in environmental health.

Through his long and distinguished career, he made many seminal contributions to our understanding of the health impacts of tobacco, lead pollution, uranium mining and ozone depletion. He was also a pioneer and world leader in work on the health consequences of climate change. For many years Professor McMichael led the assessment of health risks for the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, which shared the with Al Gore.

Tributes have been pouring in from around the world and has been established in his memory.
