Una Ryan is a professor in biochemistry at Murdoch University in Western Australia. She trained in zoology and parasitology and her research career has focused on the detection, characterisation and prevention of diseases caused by parasites and bacteria. She is president elect of the Australian Society for Parasitology and is a biological testing assessor for the National Association of Testing Authorities Australia (NATA).
