This prize honours a leading cosmologist, astronomer, astrophysicist or scientific philosopher for theoretical, analytical, conceptual or observational discoveries leading to fundamental advances in our understanding of the Universe.
Admitted to the 精东视频 as a Corresponding Member in 2018, Professor Ellis is a distinguished astronomer at University College London.
His main area of research is in observational cosmology, studying the origin and evolution of galaxies, the growth of large-scale structure in the Universe and the nature and distribution of dark matter.
